You were notified by City staff with a letter in October of 2007 that permits were required. An
incomplete, after-the-fact building permit application was submitted on October 23, 2007. In December of 2007,
. City staff notified you that the stairs must be reduced in width to no wider than four feet; and the lakeside deck
_ should be reduced to a four foot width as well. As compliance was not achieved City staff sent you a letter in
,, January of 2009 requesting that you comply with City Codes.
To date we have not received the necessary additional permit information from you, nor have you brought your
property into compliance with the applicable City Codes which are enclosed for your reference.
This letter is your official notification that your property is in violation of City Codes 78-1279(5), 78-1282(b), and
78-1288. Your property must be brought into compliance on or before Monday, November 1, 2010 in order to
avoid enforcement action by the City. In order to bring the property into compliance you must either completely
remove the violations or complete and submit the enclosed zoning permit. Along with returning a zoning permit,
also include the signed escrow agreement along with a check payable to the City of Orono for$2,000. An after-
the-fact fee will be applied to your permit. Please note, in addition to submittal of the zoning permit application, a
revised survey and drawings indicating reductions in the stair and deck which conform to City standards is also
required.
Please be advised, if you fail to correct the violations this matter will be forwarded to the City Attorney for review
and may result in criminal prosecution.
If you have any questions, you can contact me at mcurtisCcci.orono.mn.us or 952-249-4627.
Sincerely,
CITY OF ORONO
c
Melanie Curtis
Planning and Zoning Coordinator
Enclosures
c US Mail
Telephone(952)249-4600 • Fax(952)249-4616
www.ci.orono.mn.us
