MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, June 25, 2007 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br /> <br />Rahn stated he is very optimistic about the Dakota Rail Trail project commencing this fall. <br /> <br />McMillan thanked Planner Gaffron for his efforts on reducing massing in the City and noted that Orono is <br />years ahead of Minneapolis and other cities on regulating hardcover and massing. <br /> <br />Bremer concurred that the City of Orono is doing a wonderful job of protecting the area lakes and the <br />environment in general. <br /> <br />White stated he received a phone call from former Council Member Bob Sansevere recently and that <br />Sansevere thanked the City for recognizing his years of service. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT <br /> <br />City Engineer Kellogg stated City Staff and his office have worked out a schedule for submittal of <br />grading and drainage plans that should work well. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br /> <br />7. POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH CARE SAVINGS PLAN ADJUSTMENT – <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5635 <br /> <br />Murphy stated he would like to see the City encourage a higher contribution than one percent in the <br />future. <br /> <br />Murphy moved, Bremer seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5635, a Resolution Amending a <br />Post-Employment Health Care Savings Plan and Amending the Personnel Policy to Reflect the <br />Change. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />*8. SCHEDULE PLANNING COMMISSION INTERVIEWS <br /> <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to schedule the Planning Commission candidate interviews for <br />Monday, July 9, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />*9. PAY REQUEST NO. 1 – FERNDALE ROAD AND FOX STREET BRIDGE <br />REPLACEMENTS <br /> <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to approve Request for Payment No. 1 for the Ferndale Road <br />and Fox Street Bridge Replacements project in the amount of $60,633.75 to Redstone Construction <br />Co., Inc.
