Mattick,Esq. appeared on behalf of the City of Orono. No one appeared on <br /> behalf of the property owners. . <br /> Based upon the verified petition, testimony, evidence, and arguments presented, an.d all <br /> of the files,records,and proceedings,the Court makes the following: <br /> Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law <br /> 1. The above-entitled matter came on before the Honorable Referee Mark Labine in the <br /> Hennepin County District Court Housing Court pursuant to the Notice of Motion and Motion of <br /> the City of Orono for relief regarding the property located at 200 Hollander, Orono,Minnesota. <br /> 2. In an inspecti.on on December 3, 2010, the City Building Inspector found that the <br /> home ha.d numerous building code violations and structural deficiencies, including the <br /> determination that the buildi.ng on the site is hazardous due to inadequa.te maintenance, <br /> dilapidation, physical damage anii disrepair. The condition of the home is the result of the <br /> basement fl.00ding and allowing standing water in the basement for over five months. In - <br /> addition,the properry surrounding the home has multiple stora.ge sheds filled with trash,multiple <br /> inoperable vehicles and various piles of junk and debris that are harboring rodents. <br /> 3. On December 17, 2010, the City of Orono issued an Order for Abatement of <br /> Hazardous Building and Property existing at 200 Hollander, Orono, Minnesota.. This Order for <br /> Abatement of Hazardous Buildin.g and Property was posted and published pursuant to Mi.nn. <br /> Stat. § 463.17, subd. 2(2008). <br /> 4.
