MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Tuesday, May 29, 2007 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />James White, Council Members Lili McMillan, Jim Murphy, Cynthia Bremer, and David Rahn. <br />Representing Staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, Planning Director Mike Gaffron, City Attorney <br />Soren Mattick, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> <br />Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Item Nos. 9 through 18 were added to the Consent Agenda and Item No. 2 was taken off of the Consent <br />Agenda. <br /> <br />Murphy moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />2. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 14, 2007 <br /> <br />White requested the minutes under the Mayor/Council report be corrected to read that he had been <br />speaking with the County regarding some grants for the dock on Big Island. <br /> <br />Bremer moved, McMillan seconded, to approve the minutes of the May 14, 2007, City Council <br />meeting as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />7:10 P.M. – HRA MEETING <br /> <br />This item followed the adjournment of the City Council meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS – RALPH KEMPF <br /> <br />Kempf stated he had nothing to report but would be available for questions. <br /> <br />Murphy thanked him for sending the Council the pictures of the driveways. <br /> <br />Kempf stated the driveway on the corner of Brackett’s Point has two strips of concrete and the center <br />consists of concrete block with open spaces in it. Kempf stated he is unsure how that driveway would <br />work in other situations but that it is something to consider in an effort to reduce hardcover. <br /> <br />White commented the Council did review a plan recently where the driveway was originally proposed as <br />two strips of hard surface and grass in the middle but was then later revised to be all blacktop. <br /> <br />PAGE 1 <br />Item #02 - CC Agenda - 06/11/07 <br />Approval of Council Minutes 05/29/07 [Page 1 of 7]
