MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, November 23, 2009 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> <br />PAGE 6 of 8 <br />RECOGNITION <br /> <br />3. JOHN SCHOENHOFF, POLICE OFFICER – RESOLUTION NO. 5885 <br /> <br />Sergeant Fischer stated John Schoenhoff has worked with the Orono Police Department since 1992 and <br />prior to that worked in North Dakota as a police officer for 13 years. The Orono Police Department <br />would like to extend its appreciation to him for his years of dedicated service. <br /> <br />Mayor White presented the resolution of appreciation to John Schoenhoff. <br /> <br />Schoenhoff thanked the Orono City Council and his fellow police officers for the privilege of serving <br />with them. <br /> <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5885, a Resolution Recognizing <br />Officer John Schoenhoff for his Seventeen Years of Dedicated Service to the City as a Police <br />Officer. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT <br /> <br />City Engineer Kellogg reported that work on Casco Point Circle is winding down and that one resident <br />has an issue with the rain garden located at the southwest corner of Dunwoody. It is a water quality <br />improvement that was installed as part of the project and is located in the right-of-way. Kellogg stated <br />basically some restoration and driveway work is still in the process of being completed. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ADMINITRATOR’S REPORT <br /> <br />*8. AMEND OFFICIAL CALENDAR <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Murphy seconded, to amend the 2009 Official Meeting Schedule by changing the <br />Christmas Eve holiday to a full day of holiday hours and the New Year’s Eve holiday to a half day <br />of holiday hours. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*9. REQUEST FOR PAYMENT NO. 7, CASCO POINT RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Murphy seconded, to approve Request for Payment No. 7 for the Casco Point <br />Reconstruction Project, Geislinger and Sons, Inc., in the amount of $236,843.86. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br />*10. RELEASE OF TAX FORFEIT PARCELS (PID 10-117-23 31 0072/0073) FOR SALE AS <br />ONE BUILDING SITE – RESOLUTION NO. 5888 <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Murphy seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5888, a Resolution to Recommend <br />Release of Tax Forfeited Land at 1245 Arbor Street for Sale as One Buildable Site.
