MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, March 10, 2008 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />__________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />ROLL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: <br />Mayor James White, Council Members Jim Murphy, Cynthia Bremer, and David Rahn; City Attorney <br />Soren Mattick. Representing Staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, Assistant City Administrator <br />for Long-Term Strategy Mike Gaffron, Planning and Zoning Coordinator Melanie Curtis, Planner <br />Evelyn Turner, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> <br />Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Item Nos. 11, 12, and 13 were added to the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Murphy seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes <br />4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />*2. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 25, 2008 <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Murphy seconded, to approve the minutes of the February 25, 2008, City <br />Council meeting as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />RECOGNITIONS AND DONATIONS <br /> <br />3. RETIREMENT OF POLICE OFFICER BRUCE ANDERSON – RESOLUTION NO. <br />5729 <br /> <br />The Orono City Council acknowledged the outstanding work Officer Bruce Anderson performed on <br />behalf of the community for the past 30 years and as part of the Citizens Police Academy. <br /> <br />White moved, Murphy seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5729, a Resolution Recognizing <br />Officer Bruce Anderson for his Thirty Years of Dedicated Service to the City of Orono as Police <br />Officer. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />4. RECOGNITION OF RESERVE POLICE OFFICER TED WESTERDAHL – <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5728 <br /> <br />The Orono City Council acknowledged the outstanding work Officer Ted Westerdahl performed on <br />behalf of the Orono community for the past 32 years. <br /> <br />Murphy moved, Rahn seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5728, a Resolution Recognizing <br />Reserve Officer Ted Westerdahl for his Thirty-two Years of Dedicated Service to the City of <br />Orono as Reserve Police Officer.
