But I want to make sure we are all on the same page as to how these steps and landings are going to be built. Based on the slope of the property going down to the lake, our intention is to use wall stone directly underneath the 4' steps and landing areas to handle the difference in elevation from the back of the step to the front of the step, and from side to side. There will be no additional hardcover as the steps will either be sitting on the prepared ground or the wall stone directly underneath the step. By doing this, we will not be increasing the hardcover going down to the lake, and will not need any retaining walis outside of the steps or landing areas. I hope this explanation makes sense.
