MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, October 10, 2011 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> Page 12 of 13 <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br /> <br />Rahn thanked Don DeBeare for finalizing the heat cables on the city buildings and added that one of the <br />imperatives of the City should be to properly maintain their buildings. <br /> <br />McMillan noted there were a couple of open houses this weekend in the community. The Minnetonka <br />Center for the Arts held an open house and the Long Lake Fire Department had their Kids Day this past <br />Saturday. In addition, the Western Hennepin Pioneer Museum had the dedication of their new storage <br />facility. McMillan commented the exhibits were fascinating. <br /> <br />McMillan noted the Lurton Park dedication is scheduled for October 29th. The park is located at the <br />corner of Old Highway 12 and County Road 6 and the opening ceremony for the new park will be at <br />10:00 a.m. on Saturday. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />*9. HEAT CABLES - CITY HALL AND PUBLIC WORKS ROOFS <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Printup seconded, to approve the quote from Allstar Electric in the amount of <br />$8,032.00 to install heat cables on the roofs of City Hall and the Public Works Building. VOTE: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*10. CRYSTAL BAY PARK EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT - GRANT APPLICATION - <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6084 <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Printup seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6084, a Resolution Authorizing <br />Filing of Application and Execution of Agreement to Develop and Improve Recreation Facilities <br />Under the Provisions of the Hennepin Youth Sports Program. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*11. REPLACE SQL SERVER <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Printup seconded, to approve the purchase of a new Sql server from LOGIS in <br />the amount of $4,368.70 with additional setup estimated to be $1,536.00. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*12. SET DATE FOR LURTON PARK DEDICATION <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Printup seconded, to establish Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., for the <br />dedication of Lurton Park. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />13. ENGINEERING SERVICES RFP <br /> <br />Loftus reported nine proposals were received for the engineering services RFP and that she would <br />recommend that number be reduced to three or four firms for interviews.
