NAVARRE STREET LIGHT UPDATE, Continued) <br /> <br />Loftus stated she is interested in knowing whether the Council would like options for planters, banners or <br />flags on the poles. <br /> <br />Printup indicated he would be in favor of the banners and possibly flags in the future. <br /> <br />Loftus indicated there are also options for planters and that she is not sure what type of interest the City <br />Council has in that aesthetic component. Loftus noted some of the planters have an irrigation component <br />to them and that now is a good opportunity to look at all options. <br /> <br />Franchot stated it would be interesting to know the breakdown of the costs for the various upgrades. <br /> <br />McMillan commented it would be nice to be able to fly flags or banners. <br /> <br />Rahn stated the City could also explore the possibility of the local businesses and residents doing some of <br />the flag and plant upkeep. <br /> <br />Struve indicated he will bring those various costs back before the City Council. <br /> <br />Struve reported the golf course officially closed last Wednesday. Orono Orchard Road has been paved <br />down to County Road 15 but is still closed between Fox and County Road 15 due to some work being <br />done on the south side of County Road 15. Struve indicated hopefully the work will be completed in the <br />next week or two and that he will include any new information in his weekly updates. <br /> <br />*7. LIGHTING UPGRADE FOR CITY HALL, POLICE, AND PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Printup seconded, to award the building lighting replacement in City Hall, the <br />Police Department, and Public Works to Retrofit Companies. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br /> <br />McMillan noted she and Council Member-Elect Kristi Anderson attended the emergency management <br />training session last Tuesday. Another training session is scheduled for January. <br /> <br />McMillan noted Planner Gaffron and herself met with Jim Grube and his staff at Hennepin County to <br />discuss the letter Orono sent them regarding safety improvements in Navarre.
