MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />Monday, August 13, 2012 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> Page 1 of 19 <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Aaron Printup, and David Rahn. Representing <br />Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, City Clerk Lin Vee, Finance Director Ron Olson, Assistant <br />City Administrator of Long-Term Strategic Planning Michael Gaffron, Planning Director Melanie Curtis, <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Jesse Struve, Consulting Engineer David Martini, City Attorney <br />Soren Mattick, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Item Nos. 9, 10, and 12 were added to the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Printup seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />*2. COUNCIL WORK SESSION OF JULY 23, 2012 <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Printup seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council work session <br />of July 23, 2012, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*3. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 23, 2012 <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Printup seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />July 23, 2012, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*4. COUNCIL WORK SESSION OF AUGUST 2, 2012 <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Printup seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council work session <br />of August 2, 2012, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />LMCD REPORT - Andrew McDermott, Representative <br /> <br />McDermott reported the LMCD purchased a new milfoil harvester a couple of weeks ago, and due to the <br />improved technology, additional acreage will be able to be harvested. The dam is still open and Lake <br />Minnetonka is currently at an elevation of 928.68'. <br /> <br />The Save the Lake Committee received a request six to nine months ago to help with fundraising for a <br />piece of equipment that assists divers to search in deep water. Hennepin County has received a grant for <br />$98,000. The total cost of the Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) is approximately <br />$150,000.
