MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, July 9, 2012 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />(PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT, Continued) <br /> <br />public may need to access the golf course either from the north or the south depending on the status of the <br />construction that day but detour signs will be erected directing traffic. <br /> <br />Struve reported that the Hennepin County 19 bridge replacement project over Forest Lake Channel is <br />scheduled to begin July 17th. There is a link on the City's website that will direct people to Hennepin <br />County’s website where there should be updates on the project. Orono's Public Works Department is <br />finishing up cleaning up sanitary sewers on Tonkawa Road. <br /> <br />*10. REQUEST FOR PAYMENT NO. 1 - CARMEN BAY SHORELINE RESTORATION <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />Rahn moved, Franchot seconded, to approve Pay Request No. 1 for Sunram Construction, Inc., in <br />the amount of $40,172.31 for the Carmen Bay Shoreline Restoration Project. VOTE: Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br />*11. REQUEST FOR PAYMENT NO. 1 - WAYZATA BOULEVARD SANITARY SEWER <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />Rahn moved, Franchot seconded, to approve Pay Request No. 1 for GM Contracting, Inc., in the <br />amount of $232,939.47 for the Wayzata Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Project. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br /> <br />Rahn stated to his knowledge they have updated the signs for the bridge replacement project today. <br /> <br />Printup noted the Children of the Revolution had near record attendance at their event on July 4th at the <br />Wayzata Depot. The Creative Kids Academy has their grand opening scheduled for this Saturday, July <br />14th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The public open house for Old Highway 12 is scheduled for Thursday, August <br />9th, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lake Community Bank. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Loftus noted the LMCD did approve their 2013budget with a 2.6 percent increase. Loftus indicated she <br />did share with the LMCD the City's desire that there not be an increase given the City's desire to maintain <br />a zero percent increase in the City's budget. Orono is the second largest contributor to the LMCD at <br />$58,000 a year. <br /> <br />12. ACCEPT DONATION - RESOLUTION NO. 6156 <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to accept a $200.00 donation from Gear West and adopt <br />Resolution No. 6156 Acknowledging a Donation from Gear West.
