Section 26-31 Definitians of the City of Orono Municipal Code is <br /> hereby amended by adding the follvwing te�: <br /> Rent sha11 mean, for the purpose of this definition, leasing, subleasing, lettin�or hirin� <br /> occupanc� <br /> Short-term rental shall mean the renta.l to a person or�roup of persons a residential unit for a <br /> period of less th,an thirtv{30) consecutive calendar days in a zonin�district where residential <br /> uses aze allowed. <br /> Short-term rental propertv means a parcel of real property and includes the premises upon which <br /> a short-term rental unit is located and the bazki.nt�azeas, driveways, landscaping, accessorv <br /> structures, fences, wa11s, swimmingznools, hot tubs, and svas. <br /> SECTION 2. Article IV.—Short Term Rentals of the City of Orono Municipal <br /> Code is hereby added by adding the following text: <br /> Section 26-$0—Short term rental licenses <br /> (a) Purpose. The use of residential propert�for short term rental has the potential for <br /> increased traffic, congesrion on the streets, noise, and disrespectful activitv to the <br /> detriment of the nei�hborhood. The CitYof Orono has determined that the <br /> (b) Required. It is unlawful for any person to rent their property for a period less than <br /> 30 c3ays without first having obtained a Business License as outlined in Article II <br /> of this chapter. f Section 26�nara�raphs 31 throu 421 <br /> (c) Regulation.
