. i i •
' M
MINUTES OF THE j
ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
Monday, October 16, 2000
granting the variances.
Day reiterated his request to have the alley vacated.
Lindquist noted this matter will appear before the City Council October 23`d. Lindquist requested
City Staff notify the neighbors in attendance at tonight's meeting be given notice of the Ciry
Council meeting when this application will be heard.
(#15) #2630 GREGG AND STEPHANIE LARSEN, 1380 REST POINT ROAD,
VARIACES,9:09 p.m.—9:42 p.m.
Gregg and Stephanie Larsen,Applicants, were present.
The Certificate of Mailing and Affida.vit of Publication were noted.
Bottenberg stated the Applicants aze proposing two different thins in their application. First
Thy are seeking a conditional use permit to replace existing retaining walls. There are
currently three retainingvallsithin the 0-7' setback. The Applicants are proposinto
combine the upper rivovalls as one and keeping the lower, which is currently closer to the
lake, vhich would make twoalls rathec than the three that currently exist. Retaining walls
are considered hardcover; therefore, a variance is needed for hardcover in the 0-7' setback
area. •
tC
Bottenberg stated the second part of the application is to construct a brie patio on the lakeside
of the eisting residence replacing a wood deck that the Applicant removed. The patio will be
approimately 12' by 30' and a smaller portion will be 3' by 10', for a total square footage of
approximately 387 square feet. The deck removed was 13 squaze feet.
The replacement and combination of the retainingralls will reduce the hardcover coverage in
the 0-7' zone from 922 square feet or 12.2 percent to 882 square feet or 11.7 percent. The
Applicants have no intent to remove the shed and ramp which account for 3.7 percent of the
hardcover in the 0-7' total number.
PAGE 30
