Rozeboom <br />stated they expected the runoff to go into the storm sewer and asked if that is where it is headed or if there <br />is some sort of underground piece that is there before it goes into the lake. <br /> <br />Gaffron indicated he is not sure what is out there currently and that they will need to ask the City <br />Engineer to review the system, but that he would expect there to be a catch basin. <br /> <br />Curtis noted it would need to meet the requirements of the City Engineer before it is approved by the <br />City. <br /> <br />Rozeboom commented it is a very nice design and that the proposed residence is smaller than what <br />currently exists and less imposing even with it being located closer to the lake. The architecture and <br />aesthetics are very compatible with the neighborhood. Rozeboom stated if the drainage issue is <br />engineered to a point that everyone is comfortable that no additional water is going across their street, he <br />would not have any issues with the application. <br /> <br />Bonnie Martinson, 2970 Casco Point Road, stated the drainage system goes across their property line and <br />to the neighbors to the south. After an inch of rain yesterday, the current system could not handle it and it <br />was going across their property to get to the lake. At the present time the water comes from the hill and <br />across the street from a culvert. <br /> <br />Martinson indicated she is not quite sure how that drainage system is going to work once the house is <br />elevated. Martinson stated that is a question they have and that there also is a lot of debris coming <br />through the drain system into the lake. Martinson indicated she is not sure how often the City cleans that <br />drain out. <br /> <br />Thiesse indicated he visited the property this afternoon and stood at the back corner of the house to the <br />south and looked at the lake view. The lake view did not start until the 34” maple tree, which is going to <br />remain. Thiesse stated in his view he does not believe that even from the back corner of the house the <br />neighbor’s view will be impacted. The intent of the code is to protect the lake views, and by moving the <br />house forward, it should not negatively impact the views of the neighbors. <br /> <br />Landgraver stated he does not have any reason to vote against the application since it is very similar to <br />what exists now. Landgraver noted the drainage issue is not something the Planning Commission would <br />be able to deal with tonight. <br /> <br />Schoenzeit commented it is unusual to call out hardcover and structural coverage numbers at a meeting <br />and that the applicants should submit a survey to confirm that. <br /> <br />Curtis indicated they have submitted it tonight. <br /> <br />Leskinen noted the applicants are also requesting a conditional use permit as well as a variance to the <br />average lakeshore setback.
