MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Monday, February 24, 2014 <br />5:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Lizz Levang and Aaron Printup; representing Staff <br />were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Assistant City Administrator Mike Gaffron, Police Chief <br />Correy Farniok, Public Works Director/City Engineer Jesse Struve, and Finance Director Ron <br />Olson. <br /> <br />Steve Kleineman from SKD Architects and Mark Kotten from Kraus‐Anderson presented information on <br />the police garage and addition project. Discussion ensued regarding the site plan and cost options. The <br />consensus of the Council was to hold another work session on March 10th to further discuss the project. <br /> <br />Finance Director Ron Olson presented information on CIP Funding and bonding. Councilmember’s <br />discussed projects from the CIP in 2014 to 2016. The Council directed staff to bring back more <br />information to the March work session on bonding for Option 1 without road funding. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Mike Gaffron presented an offer to sell the Hawkinson Property adjacent to <br />Saga Hill Park. The consensus of the Council was there are currently other priorities for our limited park <br />funding and we regretfully decline, but everyone expressed appreciation that he thought of the City <br />before listing it. <br />Councilmember’s reviewed the list of interested residents to serve on a Park Commission. <br /> <br />Given the time constraints of the meeting, the City Council requested the assessment policy and road <br />funding item be placed on the agenda for the March work session. <br /> <br />The meeting closed at 6:50 p.m. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />________________________________________ _______________________________________ <br />Rachel Dodge, City Clerk Lili Tod McMillan, Mayor <br />Item #02 - CC Agenda - 03/10/2014 <br />Approval of Council Work Session Minutes 02/24/2014 <br />[Page 1 of 1]
