MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Monday, September 15, 2014 <br />6:30 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 31 of 59 <br /> <br />5. #14-3688 APPLIED ECOLOGICAL SERVICES, 520, 550 AND 630 TONKAWA ROAD, <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, 9:03 P.M. – 9:06 P.M. <br /> <br />Curtis stated the applicant has made an application for a conditional use permit for the properties located <br />at 520, 550, and 630 Tonkawa Road in order to restore a portion of a nearly 3-acre Type III wetland. <br />The proposal is essentially to improve the quality of the wetland, to improve the wetland vegetation, and <br />eliminate invasive vegetation. <br /> <br />Staff did do a review of the project and concluded that the applicants are meeting the goals of the <br />conditional use permit. Staff recommends approval of the conditional use permit subject to the applicants <br />obtaining the appropriate permits/approvals from the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District prior to <br />issuance of the administrative zoning permit. <br /> <br />Chair Leskinen opened the public hearing at 9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />There were no public comments regarding this application. <br /> <br />Chair Leskinen closed the public hearing at 9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Leskinen stated she has no issues with the application subject to the conditions outlined in Staff report. <br /> <br />Berg moved, Schoenzeit seconded, to recommend approval of Application No. 14-3688, Applied <br />Ecological Services, 520, 550, and 630 Tonkawa Road, granting of a conditional use permit subject <br />to the conditions outlined in Staff report. VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br /> <br />6. #14-3689 SVEN GUSTAFSON, 2490 CARMAN STREET, VARIANCES, 9:06 P.M. – 9:21 <br />P.M. <br /> <br />Sven Gustafson, Applicant, was present. <br /> <br />Curtis stated this property was the subject of a lot line rearrangement at the August Planning Commission <br />meeting. That lot line rearrangement was approved recently by the City Council.
