MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING(MOU) FOR ORONO/LONG LAKE REGIONAL <br /> TRAIL PROPOSAL, Continued) <br /> McMillan stated Three Rivers indicated they would be interested in it if it would be beneficial on a <br /> regional basis and how to connect to the Luce Line and Dakota Trail. McMillan noted the City is not <br /> obligated to undertake any projects and that it is her understanding Long Lake is also in favor of the <br /> memorandum of understanding. <br /> Bremer moved,Printup seconded,to approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Three <br /> Rivers Park District and the City of Long Lake to evaluate the feasibility of a potential new <br /> regional trail along County Road 112 connecting Baker Park Reserve to the Dakota Rail Regional <br /> Trail. VOTE: Ayes 4,Nays 0. <br /> *13. ACCEPT RESIGNATION OF POLICE OFFICER MIKE SUSSMAN <br /> Bremer moved,Levang seconded,to accept the resignation of Mike Sussman effective January 20, <br /> 2014. VOTE: Ayes 4,Nays 0. <br /> *14. REQUEST TO HIRE FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICERS <br /> Bremer moved,Levang seconded,to approve the hiring of Phil Spanjers and Joshua Needham as <br /> Full-Time Police Officers,effective January 28,2014, for Phil Spanjers,and February 11, 2014,for <br /> Joshua Needham. VOTE: Ayes 4,Nays 0. <br /> 15. GOLF COURSE DONATIONS—RESOLUTION NQ. 6363 <br /> Loftus stated this past year the City has had an active group of citizens who have taken an interest in the <br /> Orono Golf Course. The group has recently sent out a fundraising letter, with the City receiving 15-plus <br /> donations to date. Loftus stated the City needs to formally accept those donations to keep in compliance <br /> with their audit requirements. <br /> Staff is requesting the City Council adopt a resolution accepting those donations and a thank you letter <br /> will be sent to each person recognizing their donation. <br /> Levang asked how many times a year the City will be doing this. Levang asked if the City will wait until <br /> there is a certain amount of money donated or how it will be handled from here. <br /> Loftus stated it will likely be quarterly but that Staff is open to the Council's thoughts on it. <br /> McMillan noted the letter just went out and that hopefully the donations will continue. <br /> Page 15 of 17 <br />
