Petition to Rebuild Baldur Park Road <br /> Submitted to the City of 4rono, MN - July, 2�14 <br /> Petttion summary and Baldur Pa�lc Road, which is on a peninsula in North Arm Bay(East side), serves 20 homes PLUS the road provides access <br /> background to 11 homes on Birch Lane. The road has been in serious dlstress for over 15 years with large potholes, disintegrating <br /> asphalt, no curbs, excessive settiement, and rec�ntiy, flooding over the roadway due to rainfall.An area near the west end <br /> of the roadway is disi�tegra�ng and close to falling into the lake.About 450'of the road(1404–1436) has been under <br /> water(6"+/-)since the lake has risen in�e past week. <br /> Culverts,which were designed to allow storm-water to flow to the south side, now seNe as 'speed bumps"since the <br /> roadway has settled about 6"below the top of these metal cuiverts. <br /> The roadway, beginning at County Road 51, is 20'wide nan�owing to 92'wide on the west end.(Length about 1100'). Being <br /> on a peninsula, soii condiGons are variable and impacted by the water table and the lake elevation on both sides. <br /> Action petitloned fo� We, the undersigned,are concemed citiizens who urge our municipal leaders to act now to conduct an Engineering <br /> inspection and Soil Testing of the roadway base to detennine the optimum long term solution for this troubled roadway, <br /> We urge the City to authorize roadway Design Services in 2014, to analyze options,and to obtain Contractor Bids in 2014 <br /> so that funds can be budgeted for construction in the near future, perhaps, as soon as 2015.It shouid be noted�at Biroh <br /> Lane,which connects to Baldur Pa�C Road was very nicely upgraded, with sloping concrete curbs in 2011. <br /> We also ask that the City limit the axle weight of vehicles on this roadway for the ENTIRE year(now and in the future)to <br /> minimize settlement and continuing damage to the roadway surface.
