' COUVCIL M�ETI�G <br /> FE� 2 3 2015 <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> CITY 0�ORONO <br /> DATE: February 23, 2015 <br /> ITEM NO: G� <br /> / <br /> Department Approval: Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> Name Jessica Loftus City Administrator's Report <br /> Title City Administrator <br /> Item Description: Videotaping Planning Commission Meetings <br /> Councilmember Printup requested an opportunity to discuss whether the City should videotape <br /> the Planning Commission meetings. <br /> Below is some background information that might be helpful during the discussion: <br /> • The camera operator(Daphne) charges $80 per meeting. <br /> • The cameras and recording software are "sunk costs"that are paid whether we videotape <br /> the Planning Commission meetings or not. <br /> • The cable fund could support recording their 11 meetings for a total cost of$880 if the <br /> Council so chooses. <br /> • There is some additional staff time getting the video edited and posted but we have the <br /> capacity to do so. <br /> • Attached are the latest viewer statistics from our Granicus software to give you an idea of <br /> how many residents are utilizing on-demand video service. <br /> Council Action Reauested: <br /> Consider a motion to direct staff on whether or not to videotape the Planning Commission <br /> meetings. <br />
