Purpose. The purpose of this gain Council approval for the addendum to the cleaning contract. <br /> 2. Background. The City entered into a cleaning contract with Vanguard Cleaning Systems in <br /> 2012. The contract is for$2475 per month and covers the cleaning of City Hall,the Police Station <br /> and Public Works. The recently completed Police Station addition expanded the area requiring <br /> cleaning. <br /> 3. Issue. Vanguard submitted the attached addendum adding$250/month to cover the additional <br /> area. This brings the total monthly cost to $2725. <br /> 4. Funding. The budgeted amount for janitorial services is $34,000. The annual cost including the <br /> addendum would be $32,450. <br /> 5. Recommendation. In order to provide for continuity of service, it is my recommendation that the <br /> City Council approve the addendum. However, in order to ensure best value I recommend the City <br /> Council direct staff to solicit estimates for a new cleaning contract. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Consider a motion to approve the Cleaning Contract Addendum with a start date of February l st 20l 4 <br /> and direct staff to solicit bids for a new cleaning contract. <br />
