Discuss any changes in water use and the impact those changes may have on the septic system. • Review water usage rates(if available)with homeowner. Septic Tank/Pump Tanks • Mcmhole lid. A riser is reeommended if the tid is not accessible frozn the gro�md Surface Insulate the riser caver for frost protection. • Liquid level. Check to�nake sure the tank is not leaking.The tiquid level should be level with the bottom of the outlei pipe.(If tlte water level is below the bottom of#he outlet pipe, the tar�lc may not be watertight. If the water Icvel is higher than the bottom of the outlei pipe of the tank, the effluent screen may need cleaning,or there may be�onding in the drainfield.) • Inspection pipes.Replace damaged caps. • BcrJjles.
