Wetland 1 was a Type 5 (PUBGx) shallow, open water community dominated by open water and
scattered Lemna spp. Wetland 1 appears to have been excavated with very steep slopes leading
down to the wetland; the fringe of the wetland was inundated by approximately 6" of water with
approximately 2-3' of standing water near the center of the wetland. This wetland covered 0.44
acres within the property boundary.
Adjacent upland at the sample location was dominated by manicured Kentucky bluegrass. No
primary or secondary hydrology indicators were observed in the upland.
The delineated boundary followed a very abrupt change in topography and was placed
approximately 12'' above the current water level, where hydrology indicators were no longer
present, and the transition from hydric to non-hydric soils. Wetland 1 was indicated on the NWI
map as a PUBGx wetland and was located in an area of mapped Hamel-Glencoe (hydric) on the
soil survey. Wetland 1 appears to have been excavated in the past, no outlets were observed
onsite and the basin appears to be isolated.
Other Areas
No other areas with hydrophytic vegetation or wetland hydrology were observed on the site. No
other areas were shown as wetland on the NWI map or mapped as hydric soil.
4
