Bid Summary <br />B. Bolton and Menk Proposal <br /> <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain Council approval for award of the rehabilitation of <br />the trail that runs along the west side of Brown Road North. <br /> <br />2. Background. The rehabilitation of the Brown Road trail is part of the City Pavement Management <br />Plan and is listed for 2016 in the Capital Investment Plan (CIP). In December of 2015 the Council <br />approved the Bolton and Menk proposal to conduct surveying and engineering from the project. Over the <br />last month Bolton and Menk solicited and received quotes for the project. <br /> <br />3. Scope of Work. This project will rehabilitate the 0.7 miles bituminous trail that runs along Brown <br />Road North. Rehabilitation will include a combination of patching, replacing, and sealing the pavement. <br />In addition the retaining wall along section the trail will be rehabilitated by salvaging existing blocks and <br />correcting/adding geogrid and reinstalling the block on portions of two walls leaning into the trail. <br /> <br />4. Cost. Quotes for the pavement work and retaining wall work were solicited separately. The low quote <br />for the pavement rehabilitation was from Bituminous Roadways for $35,650. The low Quote for the <br />retaining wall work was from for $12,115. In addition to the construction cost, Bolton and Menk <br />provided an estimate for construction oversight.
