Houghton, K►assner, and Muskego soils are mostIy in depressions. Poorly drained Hamel <br /> soils are on foot and toe slopes. Moderate(y well drained Le Sueur and Nessel soils are on <br /> slightly etevated tlats and gently convex slopes. <br /> DRAINAGE AND P�RMEABILITY: Well drained. Permeability is moderate. Runoff <br /> is medium to high. <br /> USE AND VEGETATION: Mostly cropped to corn and soybeans. Some is in pasture <br /> and forest.Native vegetation is savanna. <br /> DISTRIBUTI01v AND EXTENT: South-central and east-central Minnesota and <br /> northeastetn Iowa. Extensive. <br /> MLRA OFFIC� RESPONSIBLE: St. Paul, Minnesota <br /> SERIES ESTABLISIiED: Dakota County, Minnesota, 19�45. <br /> REMARKS: Diagnostic horizons and feat��red recognized in this pedon are: mollic <br /> subgroup -the zone from the surface to 7 inches (Ap horizon); argillic horizon -the zone <br /> from 7 to 38 inches(Bt horizons). Type location moved from Waseca County, Mn. to <br /> Wright County, Mn., I 1/96 to better exemplify the series concept within the MLRA. <br /> Slapes of 1 to 5 percent that were previously correlated as Lester may be included �vith <br /> the Angus series in the future. <br />
