MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,April 15,2013 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> Landgraver indicated he is in agreement with Chair Leskinen and that the small changes they made <br /> tonight should not hold it up from going to the City Council. Landgraver stated he does not feel the <br /> small, incremental changes the Planning Commission might make is a reason for it not to go before the <br /> City Council. <br /> Schoenzeit noted the changes are ultimately up to the City Council and that the Planning Commission has <br /> likely reached its limit for changes. <br /> Leskinen stated she does not feel the Planning Commission can contribute anything more at this point <br /> without feedback from the City Council. <br /> Chair Leskinen opened the public hearing at 9:04 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments regarding this application. <br /> Chair Leskinen closed the public hearing at 9:04 p.m. <br /> Leskinen moved,Schoenzeit seconded,to recommend approval of Application#13-3596,City of <br /> Orono,Zoning Study,with the discussed changes,and to forward it to the City Council for their <br /> review.VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 0. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> 7. REPORT FROM PLANNING COMIVIISSION REPRESENTATIVES ON CITY <br /> COUNCIL MEETINGS MARCH 25,2013,AND APRIL 8,2013 <br /> Leskinen reported she attended the March 25`h meeting and that there was a presentation by the Westonka <br /> Historical Society. <br /> Curtis noted the City Council also made the Planning Commission appointments and an update on the <br /> Navarre Initiative meeting. <br /> Leskinen stated the JEM Technical application was approved. <br /> Curtis indicated they are still working out an agreement on the cross parking and that it will need to come <br /> _ back before the City Council once that has been finalized. <br /> Landgraver reported he attended the April 8`�'meeting and that the golf course application and the Orono <br /> School application were approved. Also at that meeting the LMA approached the City Council requesting <br /> funds,which was denied. <br /> 8. OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br /> Gaffron noted there was a prioritization work sheet that was distributed earlier this year, and the top items <br /> that were listed for review included the accessory uses and structures ordinance,the wetland ordinance, <br /> the Navarre mixed use ordinances and stormwater and drainage trunk fees. Generally the Planning <br /> Commission and the City Council agreed on what the priorities should be. Gaffron indicated he will send <br /> this information out to everyone on the Planning Commission and City Council. <br /> Page 25 of 26 <br />
