Houghton, Klossner, and Muskego soils are mostly in depressions. Poorly drained Hame( <br /> soils are on foot and toe slopes. Moderate(y well drained Le Sueur and Nessel soils are on <br /> s(ightly elevated flats and gently conveY slopes. <br /> DRAINAGE AND PERiVIEABILITY: Well drained. Permeabi(ity is moderate. Runoff <br /> is medium to high. <br /> USE AND VEGETATION: Ntostly cropped to corn and soybeans. Some is in pasture <br /> and forest. Native vegetation is savanna. <br /> DISTRIBUTION AND EXTENT: South-central and east-central Nlinnesota and <br /> northeastern Iowa. Extensive. <br /> NILRA OFFICE RESPONSIBLE: St. Paul, Minnesota <br /> SERIES ESTABLISHED: Dakota County, Minnesota, 194�. <br /> RENIARKS: Diagnostic horizons and featured recognized in this pedon are: mollic <br /> subgroup - the zone from the surface to 7 inches (Ap horizon); argil(ic horizon - the zone <br /> from 7 to 38 inches (Bt horizons). Type location moved from Waseca County, Nin. to <br /> Wright County, VIn., I 1/96 to better e�cemplify the series concept within the MLRA. <br /> Slopes of 1 to 5 percent that were previous(y correlated as Lester may be included with <br /> the Angus series in the future. <br />
