The plan is dated 8-6-09.
We have the following comments with regards to engineering matters:
• The current plan shows a maximum grade of 12.87% on the driveway with a 25'landing
area at 3% at Fox Street. The city generally recommends a maximum 10% driveway
slope and a landing area of at least 50'at 2%. It appears that in order to construct a
driveway that meets the City recommendations, extensive tree removal will be necessary.
The proposed driveway grades appear to be a reasonable compromise to minimize tree
loss.
. • Erosion and Sediment Control BMPs should be shown on the plan and should conform to
Orono City Standard Details.
• Engineered design and details should be submitted for review for all retaining walls over
4' in height.
• Based on a 30 MPH posted speed limit, the sight distance for the proposed driveway
location appears to be acceptable.
If you have any questions, please call me at(651) 604-4863 or send an email to
tom.kelloggCbonestroo.com.
Yours very truly,
__----- -'
/
Tom Kellogg
Cc: Melanie Curtis
