ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 23, 1998 <br />• <br />( #23) LONG LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE 5 INCH FIRE HOSE <br />Moorse recommended purchase of a five inch fire hose for the Long Lake Fire Department which <br />will provide them with a water source that has as much capacity as a fire hydrant at the end of <br />the hose. <br />Kelley moved, Peterson seconded, to approve the purchase of 2,000 feet of 5 inch fire <br />hose by the Long Lake Fire Department at a total cost of $12,300 (with Orono's share <br />being $8,639.52), and to amend the 1998 Improvement and Equipment Outlay Fund <br />budget to reflect this expenditure. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Moorse indicated a work session has been scheduled for December 2 at 7:30 a.m. <br />Kelley requested Moorse to send him a break -out of the City's portion of the health insurance <br />costs, noting that the increase may be more than 3 percent when that aspect is factored in. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Barrett had nothing to report. <br />( " #24) LICENSES <br />Goetten moved, Peterson seconded, to approve the following licenses.
