0 <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 26, 1998 <br />(Lake Minnetonka Conservation District, Continued) <br />McMillan stated she will continue to push for certain designated improvements that the City <br />of Orono is interested in pursuing. <br />Peterson remarked the City Council should be supportative of McMillan's representation on <br />the LMCD, and inquired if there was any action the City Council could take to help with any <br />particular project. <br />McMillan stated the City Council has been positive about her representation to date, noting <br />she will continue to work on budget issues. <br />Mayor Jabbour commented that upon a request to the state legislatures by the City of Orono, <br />the terms on the LMCD have been reduced from three years to one year. Jabbour stated the <br />City of Orono should continue to take a pro - active role in the LMCD, noting the City is <br />pursuing mandatory educational licensing. <br />Jabbour inquired whether McMillan would be interested in serving another year on the <br />LMCD. <br />• McMillan stated she will accept another one -year term on the LMCD. <br />( #28) REAPPOINT REPRESENTATIVE TO LAKE MINNETONKA <br />CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to reappoint Lili McMillan for an additional <br />one year term on the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District commencing <br />October 28, 1998. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS - LIZ HAWN, REPRESENTATIVE <br />Hawn stated she has nothing to report, but commented that she would be available for <br />questions throughout the meeting. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Richard Lyman, 715 North Ferndale Road, inquired whether he could obtain a report as to the <br />status of the construction contracts for North Ferndale Road, noting that improvements to the <br />road have been promised with no construction commencing. <br />0 <br />
