ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />• MINUTES FOR JUNE 8,1998 <br />(21A) TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT OF OFFICER CHRIS FISCHER TO A FULL -TIME <br />POLICE OFFICER SCHEDULE <br />Moorse explained that this temporary appointment is a result of the extended leave of Officer Mark <br />Thornton. Chris Fischer was appointed to a part-time officer position in February of 1998 and has <br />completed his field training. <br />Moorse confirmed that the Police Chief was also recommending the appointment. <br />Peterson moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the temporary appointment of Officer Chris Fischer <br />to a full -time police officer schedule at the Step 1, Full -Time Police Officer pay rate of $13.72 per <br />hour with full benefits effective June 8, 1998 through October 1, 1998, subject to review based on <br />the employment status of Officer Mark Thornton. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Moorse asked Council to consider a joint Planning Commission/Council work session to be held in <br />conjunction with the June 29 Council meeting for the Shoreline Drive/Heritage Drive and Lane <br />public hearing. Another item for discussion would be the Park Land Company development <br />proposal. Council was in agreement. <br />0 ( * #22) LICENSES <br />There were no licenses. <br />( 423) BILLS <br />Flint moved, Peterson seconded, to approve payment of the All Funds Account. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays <br />0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Attorney Barrett requested an Executive Session. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Peterson moved, Flint seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 11:28 p.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />• <br />Linda S.
