The following <br />projects are planned: <br />1. The footprint of the cabin will be expanded and the interior space reorganized to accommodate a <br />main floor bedroom. The addition on the main floor west side will result in a library space and will not <br />extend beyond the lakeward extent of the existing covered porch on the cabin over 95-feet from the <br />lake; and <br />2. The addition of a screen porch addition on the north side of the cabin approximately 5 feet lakeward <br />of the 75-foot setback line, to utilize the two existing 3’ x3’ foundation piers remaining from the <br />original cabin; and <br />3. The construction of a 25’x35’ storage garage to be situated 76 feet from the OHWL. <br /> <br />All of the projects are located lakeward of the average lakeshore setback line; variances are necessary. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />On March 21st the Planning Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the application including the <br />evidence submitted. No public comments were received and there was no one from the public present to <br />comment on the application. Following the public hearing the Commission voted 5 to 0 on a motion to <br />approve the variances with the following condition: <br />1. The construction plans must be revised to reflect the correct foundation plan utilizing the 3’x3’ <br />footings and not a solid foundation. <br /> <br />Planning Staff Recommendation <br />The applicant has provided a revised plan for the foundation of the screen porch as directed. Staff <br />recommends approval of the variances. A draft approval resolution has been provided for Council’s <br />consideration. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Council should consider adopting or amending the approval resolution. <br /> <br />List of Exhibits: <br />Exhibit A.
