Cjt yy- G,,r .Np` July 26, 2004
Orono Planning Commission
RE: New proposed construction—(2004 and 2005)
1146 Wildhurst Trail
4475 Forest Lake Landing—(lots 22 &23)
Two sites, 1146 Wildhurst Trail and 4475 Forest Lake Landing, are making plans to
demolish and rebuild. Both properties involve hillside run-off that directly affects our
property. Our concern is water management. This is a serious matter on Saga Hill clay.
Our property sits below the hill in regard to both of these construction sites.
Regarding 1146 Wildhurst Trail:
1) The new house will be sited higher on the hill and more directly above us than the
present structure. Our home will be even more vulnerable to unmanaged water.
2) The present drainage receptacle located at the SW corner af the Wildhurst house
will be disturbed during construction. This receptacle handles the driveway and
some hardcover run-off and directs it away from our property. Our concern,
therefore, is for water management during construction as well as after the project is
completed.
Regarding 4475 Forest Lake LandingiLots 22 & 23:
1} The new house will be set deeper on the lot, closer to our house. The hardcover will
be directly above the North end of our property and could create a run-off issue.
2) During construction, trucks will invariably drag mud onto Forest Lake Landing.
Our concern is that this mud will end up in our driveway. Our drive is already the
recipient of all run-off from Forest Lake Landing a.nd part of Wildhurst Trail. We
haul wheelbarrow loads of sand and silt away after every rainfall and do not wish to
add mud to that equarion.
Both of these projects directly concern us because our property sits below the hill of both
construction sites. We're asking that particular attention be made to water management
issues for both projects, during and after construction, so that our property is not
adversely affected.
Sincerely,
=-
y, + ,
., ►J C:=---z,--.
-G / ` ?.?1i
Sanford .Ma aret J.
