MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 11, 1988 <br />GTE NUANCE 7:00 P.M. <br />The Orono Council met on the above date with the <br />following members present: Mayor Grabek, Councilmembers <br />Peterson, Sime, and Callahan. Councilmember Goetten was <br />absent. The following represented the City staff: City <br />Administrator Bernhardson, Public Works Director <br />Gerhardson, Building & Zoning Administrator Mabusth, <br />Assistant Planning & Zoning Administrator Gaffron, <br />Building Official Jacobs, and City Recorder Peterson. <br />City Attorney Blatz and City Engineer Cook were also <br />present. <br />CONSENT AGENDA* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to approve the Consent Agenda <br />subject to removal of the following items: <br />#18 - Resolution of Appreciation - Kathleen Blatz <br />#19 - Snowmobile Accident on Luce Line <br />#26A- Request to Hire Temporary Clerical Help - <br />Police Department <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />FRANK MROSS - COMMEMORATIVE RESOLUTION <br />Mayor Grabek read and presented A Resolution <br />Commemorating Frank Mross to Mrs. Frank Mross and his <br />family recognizing Frank's many years of dedication and <br />service to the City of Orono and extending condolence to <br />' his family. <br />KATHLEEN BLATZ - RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br />Mayor Grabek read and presented A Resolution of <br />Appreciation to City Attorney Kathleen Blatz thanking <br />her for her services and best wishes. <br />OFF -SALE NON - INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE <br />NAVARRE AUTO <br />2420 SHADYWOOD ROAD <br />PUBLIC HEARING 7 :06 -7:08 <br />ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 46, SECOND SERIES <br />City Recorder Peterson noted the Affidavit of <br />Publication. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the two issues: <br />1) Determine if the City will issue a new license <br />for off -sale non - intoxicating malt liquor at Navarre <br />Auto. <br />2) Amend the liquor ordinance deleting citizenship <br />as a qualification for a licensee to conform with <br />State law. <br />Bernhardson noted that in reviewing surrounding <br />communities that issue licenses to gas stations and <br />convenience stores no significant problems were found <br />associated with gasoline and 3.2 beer. <br />1 <br />
