.,P, <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 28, 1987 <br />TENDANCE 7:00 P.M. <br />The Orono Council met on the above date with the <br />following members present: Mayor Grabek, Councilmember <br />Goetten, Sime, and Callahan. Councilmember Peterson <br />arrived at 8:34 P.M. The following represented the City <br />staff: City Administrator Bernhardson, Public Works <br />Coordinator Gerhardson, Building & Zoning Administrator <br />Mabusth, Assistant Planning & Zoning Administrator <br />Gaffron, Chief of Police Kilbo, and City Recorder <br />Peterson. City Attorney Blatz and City Engineer Cook <br />were also present. <br />CONSENT AGENDA* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to approve the Consent Agenda <br />subject to removal of Item #24A - Rejection of Hackberry <br />Park Well Bids. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION <br />-Mayor Grabek read and presented to Police Reserve <br />Officers Sullivan and O'Brien Resolution #2261 <br />"Commendation to Police Reserve Officers Peter Achey, <br />Greg Sullivan, and Randy O'Brien" for their assistance <br />in the apprehension of an individual for indecent <br />exposure on the Luce Line. <br />Mayor Grabek read and presented to Officer Mark Thomton <br />Resolution #2260 of "Special Commendation" for his <br />assistance in talking a suicidal person in another <br />jurisdiction out of committing suicide. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to approve the Minutes of the <br />September 14, 1987 Council meeting as submitted. <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT REPORT <br />LMCD Representative Jo Ellen Hurr reported on the <br />following issues: <br />Executive Director - Executive Director Frank Mixa has <br />resigned effective January 31, 1988. Applications for <br />this position are being accepted through October 15, <br />1987 with plans to fill the position by December 1, <br />1987. She noted that approximately 40 applications have <br />been received but she has not personally reviewed them. <br />Comprehensive Plan - The LMCD is currently working on a <br />Request for Proposal for the Comprehensive Plan and she <br />will be reporting back to Council on this. Regarding <br />the funding for the Comprehensive Plan, they hope to <br />receive some grants and assistance from the Met Council. <br />1 <br />
