MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JULY 13, 1987 <br />ATTENDANCE 7:00 P.M. <br />The Orono Council met on the above date with the <br />following members present: Mayor Grabek, Councilmembers <br />Sime, Peterson, Callahan, and Goetten. The following <br />represented the City staff: City Administrator <br />Bernhardson, Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson, Police <br />Chief Kilbo, Building & Zoning Administrator Mabusth, <br />Assistant Planning & Zoning Administrator Gaffron, and <br />City Recorder Peterson. Also present were City Attorney <br />Blatz and�City Engineer Cook. <br />CONSENT AGENDA* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to approve the Consent Agenda* <br />subject to removal of the following items: <br />#33 -Linda Freeman, 3415 Eastlake Street - requested <br />by Councilmember Callahan <br />#35 -Golf Course Garage - requested by Mayor Grabek <br />#37 -571 North Brown Road - Hazardous Building - <br />requested by Councilmember Peterson <br />Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PRESENTATION /RECOGNITION - <br />WILLIAM 'BILL' CARLSON <br />Mayor Grabek presented to Bill Carlson Orono Resolution <br />No. 2209 adopted June 22, 1987 in recognition of his 20 <br />years and five months service to the City of Orono as <br />Light Equipment Operator, Utility Mechanic, and Utility <br />Foreman. <br />OATH OF OFFICE - <br />OFFICER DAN FISCHENICH <br />City Administrator Bernhardson introduced Officer <br />Dan Fischenich. Officer Fischenich started as a Noble <br />County Sheriff jailor, followed by serving on the <br />Lakefield Police Dept. for 2 years and the LeSueur <br />Police Dept. for 7 years before coming to the Orono <br />Police Dept. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson administered the Oath of <br />Office to Officer Dan Fischenich. <br />Mayor Grabek noted that within this meeting Council <br />packet there were several letters relating to the Orono <br />Police Department's outstanding service during the past <br />few months. He encouraged the press to publish some <br />positive recognition to the Orono Police Dept. <br />1 <br />
