MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 23, 1987 <br />1059 SCHAFER CONTINUED <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by Councilmember <br />Sime, to adopt Resolution #2132 granting a conditional <br />use permit and variance as stated. Motion, Ayes 5, nays <br />0. <br />#1105 THOMAS HITCH* <br />1180 LYMAN AVENUE <br />RENEWAL VARIANCE <br />RESOLUTION #2133 <br />It was moved by.Councilmember- Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Goetten, to adopt Resolution #2133 <br />approving renewal of a lot area variance granted <br />previously in 1977, 1983, and 1985. Motion, Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br />JOINT USE DOCK LICENSES* <br />RESOLUTION #2134 - #2139 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Goetten, to adopt resolutions approving <br />the Joint Use Dock Licenses as follows: <br />Resolution #2134 - Navarre Cove Homeoweners Assoc. <br />Resolution #2135 - Walters Port Maintenance & <br />Improvement Assoc. <br />Resolution #2136 - Sandy Beach Shores <br />Resolution #2137 - Foxhill Homeowners Assoc. <br />Resolution #2138 - Victoria Estates Homeowners Assoc <br />Resolution #2139 - Rhode /Enlow /Lindahl <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />MAYOR'S REPORT: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENT <br />Mayor Grabek explained that at the last meeting Council <br />appo."nted Ed Cohen and Jeffrey Johnson as <br />representatives to the Planning Commission. The third <br />vacancy (urban designation) was tabled due to a deadlock <br />vote. <br />Councilmember Goetten expressed the desire to amend the <br />ordinance requirement of urban /rural designations in <br />order to choose a representative from all the <br />candidates. <br />Councilmember Callahan felt that location designation <br />of the candidates should be considered, however felt <br />that there was merit to changing the ordinance. <br />Councilmember Sime felt it important to have as much <br />representation throughout the community as possible, he <br />noted that currently there are no Planning Commission <br />members who live on the lake-and suggested that there be <br />some representation of lake rights to assure the City's <br />important desire to protect the lake. <br />5 <br />
