VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 0. <br /> 7. #11-3503 CITY OF ORONO,ZONING CODE TEXT AMENDMENT- LAKESHORE <br /> RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS: DOCK RENTAL <br /> This item was heard after Item No. 2. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> 8. REPORT OF PLANNING COMNIISSION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING CITY <br /> COUNCIL MEETINGS ON MARCH 26,2012,AND APRIL 9,2012 <br /> Levang reported the last two City Council meetings have been relatively short and that the majority of the <br /> items were placed on the Consent Agenda. The LMCD is currently monitoring the low water elevation <br /> on Lake Minnetonka. <br /> Gaffron noted there was only one planning application that was not on the Consent Agenda. <br /> Levang asked why the other application with a bluff was removed from the agenda. <br /> Gaffron indicated it was removed at the request of the applicant. <br /> Thiesse stated the bluff property discussed earlier tonight is much more difficult than the other <br /> application. <br /> Gaffron stated the applicant does have the right to rebuild in-kind and that a house in-kind would likely <br /> have some of the same impacts as the proposed house. <br /> Levang noted that approximately eight neighbors in the Maple Place neighborhood attended the last City <br /> Council meeting and expressed concerns with the density being proposed. <br /> Gaffron stated as it relates to Maple Place, it has been learned that one of the state rule requirements is <br /> that you cannot have any structure within 50 feet of a federal, state,or county highway,which means that <br /> the southerly lot is probably not buildable since it is only a 50-foot lot. The applicant has been advised of <br /> that regulation and another meeting has been scheduled with the applicant to discuss his application. The <br /> Page <br /> 24 <br />
