MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Tuesday,January 17,2012 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> Schoenzeit stated the key is whether it impacts the neighbors. <br /> Anthony Rochel,Applicant, stated he would answer any questions the Planning Commission may have. <br /> Levang asked what the intent is with the existing home. <br /> Rochel indicated his intent is to remove the existing residence and construct a new residence. <br /> Levang asked what would be done with the existing building site. <br /> Rochel indicated it would be graded and that they would like to place native plantings in that area. <br /> Levang asked what he feels about the neighbor's concerns. <br /> Rochel stated this issue was only recently brought to his attention and that he does not have a problem <br /> with replacing the culvert and grading the area to prevent flooding on the neighbor's property. Rochel <br /> stated he would like to have the heavy equipment brought to the site while there is still frost in the ground <br /> to prevent ruts to the roadway. <br /> Levang asked if the existing driveway would be abandoned. <br /> Rochel indicated the existing driveway would be removed and the area replanted. <br /> Schoenzeit asked whether he would be willing to cover 100 percent of the costs of the culvert <br /> replacement. <br /> Rochel indicated he is willing to cover the costs associated with that work. <br /> Levang asked whether he would need to abandon the old well. <br /> Curtis indicated he would. <br /> Schoenzeit asked whether any significant trees will be removed. <br /> Rochel stated there are a couple of large trees and that they are depicted on the survey. Rochel indicated <br /> they will attempt to save as many of the trees as possible. They will be removing the dead trees on the <br /> property. Rochel noted there is a conservation easement on two sides of the property. <br /> Schoenzeit asked approximately how many yards of fill will be moved. <br /> Rochel indicated it will be approximately 2,500 yards of fill. <br /> Schoenzeit asked how many feet of fill will be added to the back to construct a walkout. <br /> Gozola stated approximately five feet of fill will be added. <br /> Schoenzeit noted at the peak there would be 12 feet of fill added. <br /> Page <br /> 14 <br />
