MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,May 17,2010 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#10-3466 ANDREA ODENWALD,3384 SHORELINE DRIVE, CUP, CONTINUED) <br /> Turner noted that under the definition of a sports facility,the massage therapy would be allowed. <br /> Leskinen asked if there is hand washing facilities within this space. <br /> Odenwald indicated there is a sink outside of the space she will be utilizing for the classes. There <br /> currently are no state laws governing massage but the therapists are typically certified by the individual <br /> cities. Odenwald stated there is hot running water in the building and sanitizer available. <br /> Schoenzeit asked if there is a bathroom available in the building. <br /> Odenwald stated the bathroom is located downstairs and that there is also a hand washing basin located <br /> upstairs. <br /> Rahn stated it appears to be a change of use and that a building pernut will need to be obtained. <br /> Odenwald stated the contractor has already obtained a building permit to improve the bathroom. <br /> Acting Chair Schoenzeit opened the public hearing at 9:18 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments regarding this application. <br /> Acting Chair Schoenzeit closed the public hearing at 9:18 p.m. <br /> Leskinen moved,Rahn seconded,to recommend approval of Application#10-3466,Andrea <br /> Odenwald,3384 Shoreline Drive,per staff recommendations. VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 0. <br /> 8. #10-3454 CITY OF ORONO,AMENDMENT OF CODE SECTION 78-916 AND <br /> VARIOUS CODE SECTIONS RELATING TO CONDITIONAL USES,9:19 P.M.—9:27 P.M. <br /> Turner stated the zoning code text amendment would revise the criteria to be used when evaluating a <br /> conditional use permit application;two,relocate within the code the additional criteria for service station <br /> conditional use permits; and,three,revise conditional uses in the residential zoning districts. <br /> The Planning Staff would recommend the revision to the conditional use criteria and the relocation of the <br /> additional criteria be recommended for approval and the revisions to residential conditional uses be <br /> tabled. <br /> PAGE 23 <br />
