Residents typically have private locking rooms (only shared by choice) and <br /> bathrooms. Personal care services are available on a 24-hour-a-day basis. May be provided at home or in long-term care <br /> facilities. May be covered in part by Medicare. <br /> Congregate Housing � <br /> Individual apartments in which residents may receive some services, such as a daily meal <br /> with other tenants. (Other services may be included as well.) Buildings usually�have some <br /> common areas such as a dining room and lounge as well as additional safety measures such <br /> as emergency call buttons. May be rent-subsidized (known as Section 8 housing). <br /> Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) . <br /> Communities which offer multiple levels of care (independent living, assisted living, skilled <br /> - nursing care) housed in different areas of the same community or campus and which give <br /> residents the opportunity to remain in the same community if their needs change.
