Seedlings of at least 4 native species shall be widely dispersed through the <br /> wetland. No areas of baze soil larger than 16 square feet shall exist. There sha11 be no <br /> more than 10%total coverage of exotic,non-native, or invasive vegetation(such as <br /> cattail)within the mitigation and buffer areas. <br /> 2) Year 2 <br /> This refers to the second full growing season after wetland establishment. The wetland <br /> sha11 contain at least 30% of all species conta.ined in the specified seed mix. No areas of <br /> bare soil larger than 9 square feet sha11 exist. There shall be no more than 10%total <br /> coverage of exotic,non-native or invasive vegetation within the mitigation and buffer <br /> areas. <br /> 3) Years 3-5 <br /> This section refers to yeaxs 3 through 5 after wetland establishment. The mitigation and <br /> buffer areas shall contain 40% of a11 species contained in the specified seed mix.No areas <br /> of bare soil larger than 4 square feet shall exist. There shall be no more than 20%total <br /> coverage of exotic,non-native or invasive vegetation within the mitigation and buffer <br /> areas. <br /> Maintenance Responsibility � <br /> The applicant is responsible for completing the items of the Wetland Maintenance Plan <br /> and Performance Standards. Monitoring of the wetland mitigation and buffer areas will <br /> be completed by a wetland scientist for a period of five years or until the mitigation <br /> basins exhibit wetland characteristics as proposed in the Wetland Permit Application. An <br /> annual monitoring report outlining the progress of the mitigation basins will be provided <br /> to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. If the <br /> presence of an invasive, non-native plant species is observed during the annual <br /> monitoring event,the applicant is responsible for immediate removal of the invasive, <br /> non-native plant species following the procedures outlined in this plan. <br />
