io <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MAY 27, 1986 <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY AWARD - <br />MINNESOTA SAFETY COUNCIL <br />It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember <br />Hammerel, to accept the Traffic Safety Award and commend <br />those within the City who have promoted safety, not only <br />during 1985 but, throughout the years. Motion, Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />POLICE RESERVE FUNDING <br />City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed the <br />recommendation to undertake a donation for private <br />events and that the money be used to train and equip the <br />Police Reservists. <br />UTILITY RATE STUDY <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Grabek, to approve the recommendation for <br />utilization of this means to fund equipment and training <br />for the Police Reservists. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed the Water & <br />Sewer Rate Study with the Council. <br />It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember <br />Adams, that the Council approve the recommendation of <br />staff for the 1986 Sewer & Water rates effective <br />beginning the 3rd quarter of 1986. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays <br />0. <br />LaDean McWilliams, 1130 Willow Drive, mentioned the <br />reduction rate system that the'City of Long Lake is <br />currently using. City Administrator Bernhardson stated <br />that staff will review it. <br />HIGHWAY 12 STUDY TOUR - <br />JUNE 2, 1986 - 6:30 P.M. <br />Council accepted the scheduled Highway 12 Study Tour to <br />be held on June 2, 1986 at 6:30 P.M. <br />RAILROAD CROSSING - STUBBS BAY ROAD* <br />AGREEMENT AND RESOLUTION #2003 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Hammerel, that the City Council adopt <br />Resolution #2003 giving it's approval to the <br />installation of new .standardized equipment at the <br />crossing of Burlington Northern tracks at Stubbs Bay <br />Road. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />SETTLEMENT ARTHUR PRIESZ <br />It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember <br />Frahm, the City Council approve the payment of $1,490.00 <br />to Arthur Priesz, Jr. as the City was in receipt of a <br />hold harmless agreement.
