The non-friable materials can be broken down into <br /> two categories. Category I includes floor tile, roofing, packings and gaskets. Category II <br /> includes all other non-friable materials. <br /> Regulated ACM consists of the following types of materials: <br /> • Friable materials <br /> • Category I non-friable asbestos that has become friable <br /> • Category I non-friable asbestos that will be sanded, ground, cut or abraded <br /> • Category II non-friable asbestos that has become friable <br /> • Category II non-friable asbestos that has a high probability of becoming <br /> friable during demolition or renovation <br /> The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and the MDH regulate the removal of ACM in <br /> Minnesota. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulates worker <br /> protection. The MPCA administers the requirements of EPA's National Emission Standards for <br /> Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulations. The MDH Asbestos Unit regulates how <br /> asbestos is removed and administers the Model Accreditation Program for asbestos <br /> professions. <br />
