PC Exhibit B <br /> Application Submission #2 (Narrative/Request) <br /> Harvest Moon Natural Foods Cooperative, Inc. is requesting that the City of Orono <br /> grant an amendment to the existing PUD at 2380 W.Wayzata Blvd. (Otten Bros. <br /> Nursery),to allow it to locate its grocery operation on those premises. <br /> Harvest Moon Natural Foods is a cooperative (co-op) grocery store owned by the <br /> members of the community(now nearly 600 households and counting). It will be a <br /> full-service store (including a deli) scaled appropriately for the size of the <br /> community; and support a variety of local producers and farmers. _ <br /> With the$1 million Capital Campaign nearly complete; an agreement in place with <br /> the National Cooperative Grocer's Association to assist with project managing (store <br /> layout,bank financing, etc.); and healthy sales projections recently updated by a <br /> national consultant, Harvest Moon is poised to be a successful business. <br /> Thousands of volunteer hours have gone into creating a grocery concept that would <br /> fit the unique characteristics of a small town; and support our own local economy. <br /> We look forward to working with the City of Orono to bring this much needed asset <br /> to the community. <br /> �E�Ei1/E� <br /> AUG � � 2009 <br /> �IT� OF QRONO <br />
