Kunik Date: March 05,2012 Re: 2012 Assessment/Local Board Meeting The 2012 Orono Local Board meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 18th,at 7:00 P.M. As preparation for the upcoming Local Board of Review, please find the enclosed data to help you. An assessment fact sheet, a local board summary of duties, an alternative method to the local board meeting an information sheet explaining the "open book" meeting, a chart listing the amount of assessment '��::�;� growth for Lake Minnetonka communities, growth data from the Minneapolis Area � Association of Realtors on the city of Orono, and a book of sales with photos and characteristics from a sample of sales throughout the city. Summary of the 2012 Assessment Each year estimated market values are analyzed along with data from the market. Adjustments, as appropriate for each type of property are made. The results of those adjustments for Property Type Growth for the 2012 assessment are as follows: • Residential Lakeshore - 8.6% • Residential Off Lake -6.8% There are 3,968 taxable parcels in the city with a total market value of approximately $2,386,567,700. This value includes $18,525,500 in new construction improvements. The overall value decrease from Property Type Growth for the City of Orono is -7.9%. The County Board of Appeal and Equalization begins on June 18, 2012; application is required no later than May 23, 2012.
