Kunik <br /> Date: March 05,2012 <br /> Re: 2012 Assessment/Local Board Meeting <br /> The 2012 Orono Local Board meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April <br /> 18th,at 7:00 P.M. As preparation for the upcoming Local Board of Review, please <br /> find the enclosed data to help you. An assessment fact sheet, a local board <br /> summary of duties, an alternative method to the local board meeting an information <br /> sheet explaining the "open book" meeting, a chart listing the amount of assessment <br /> '���::�;� growth for Lake Minnetonka communities, growth data from the Minneapolis Area <br /> � Association of Realtors on the city of Orono, and a book of sales with photos and <br /> characteristics from a sample of sales throughout the city. <br /> Summary of the 2012 Assessment <br /> Each year estimated market values are analyzed along with data from the market. <br /> Adjustments, as appropriate for each type of property are made. The results of those <br /> adjustments for Property Type Growth for the 2012 assessment are as follows: <br /> • Residential Lakeshore - 8.6% <br /> • Residential Off Lake -6.8% <br /> There are 3,968 taxable parcels in the city with a total market value of approximately <br /> $2,386,567,700. This value includes $18,525,500 in new construction <br /> improvements. The overall value decrease from Property Type Growth for the City of <br /> Orono is -7.9%. <br /> The County Board of Appeal and Equalization begins on June 18, 2012; application <br /> is required no later than May 23, 2012.
