AMENDMENT #3 OF THE � � <br /> 2000-2020 CITY OF ORONO <br /> COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation located within <br /> Hennepin County and within the planning jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Council; and <br /> � WHEREAS, in accordance with the Metropolitan Land Planning Act of 1976 and <br /> its amendments, and with Minnesota Statutes Chapters 462 and 473; the City of Orono in <br /> November 2001 adopted a comprehensive municipal plan known as the 2000-2020 City of <br /> Orono Community Management Plan (also referred to as the 2000-2020�CMP)to provide for the <br /> orderly development of the City; and <br /> , WHEREAS, an integral element of the 2000-2020 CMP is the Comprehensive <br /> Sewer Policy Plan, which identifies certain areas of the City as bein� within the Metropolitan <br /> Urban Service Area (MLJSA) in which connections to the metropolitan sanitary sewer system are <br /> allowed; and <br /> WHEREAS, the property at 87� Wayzata Boulevard West in Orono (hereinafter <br /> the "Property") was incorporated into the MCTSA in 1988 and w.ided at that time for single <br /> family rural residential use at a density of 1 unit per two dry buildable acres; and <br /> � WHEREAS, the City received an application from the owner of the Property for <br /> an amendment to the CMP to allow the property to be developed for residential sin;le family use <br /> at an urban density of 1 unit per 0.70 dry buildable acres (1.43 units per acre); and <br /> VVHEREAS, pursuant to published and mailed le�al notice to �the affected and <br /> nearby property owners, on May 15, 2006 the Orono Planning Commission held a public hearing <br /> and subsequently recommended approval of the proposed CMP amendment on a vote of 3-2, <br /> based on the unique nature of the property and subject to compliance w�ith City wetland <br /> re�ulations; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 12, 2006 Council directed staff to draft lan�uage for an <br /> amendment of the 2000-2020 Community Mana�ement Plan (CMP) that would allow <br /> development of the Property in the manner proposed by the applicant; and <br /> Pa�e 1 of 3 . <br />
