1� <br />O <br />O O <br />�kESI30 <br />CITY of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 3034 <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.28, SUBDIVISION 5 (B) <br />FILE #1694 <br />WHEREAS, Douglas Merz (hereinafter "the applicant") is the <br />owner of the property located at 3195 Watertown Road within the City <br />of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision No. 230, Hennepin County, Minnesota <br />(hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for variances <br />to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.28, Subdivision 5 (B) to permit <br />the construction of a 161x23' addition to the re r or the south side <br />of the existing residence now located 1' off the ktreet side or east <br />lot line. The addition will extend no closer to the street lot line <br />than the existing residence. The improvement will require approval of <br />a street setback variance of 49' or 98%. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1694. <br />2. The property is located in the RR -1B Single Family Rural <br />Residential Zoning District requiring 2 acres in area. The <br />property consists of approximately 47,349 s.f. or 1.08 <br />acres. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on <br />October 21, 1991 and recommended approval of the variance as <br />proposed based upon the following findings: <br />a) The house was built at current 1' setback prior to <br />current zoning standards. <br />b) The interior layout of existing residence would prevent <br />addition being placed to east side of residence. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
