MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, September 26, 2011 <br />• 7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />(11. ORONO ORCHARD ROAD PROJECT UPDATE, Continued) <br />Metropolitan Council to allow them additional time to review the plans and that originally bids were <br />scheduled to go out in February. <br />Rahn asked if this is the same schedule that the Council has seen for the past few months. <br />Amundsen indicated it is the same schedule that the Council has seen for the past two months but that a <br />different schedule was presented prior to that. Amundsen stated they will work with the Metropolitan <br />Council to expedite the process as much as possible. <br />Rahn stated he would suggest that anything that can be expedited should be expedited. <br />McMillan commented it would also be in Metropolitan Council's best interests to get the plans ready as <br />soon as possible. <br />The City Council took no formal action on this item. <br />*12. FOREST LAKE DRIVE STORM SEWER FUNDING AGREEMENT <br />Rahn moved, Printup seconded, to authorize Staff to finalize and execute the funding agreement <br />• with Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br />Printup noted there is a blood and marrow drive scheduled for Friday, September 30'h, at the Wayzata <br />Children's Clinic. <br />Printup indicated he spoke with Doug Franchot prior to the meeting and that he has also spoken to Chief <br />Famiok about a letter the Council had received from a family concerned about school bus safety. Printup <br />stated he wanted to make sure he did not offend Chief Farniok by giving a directive regarding that letter <br />and that from his discussions with the chief it sounded like it was not an issue. <br />McMillan asked whether there is any news from the hardcover task force. <br />Curtis stated Ben Gozola will be presenting an update to the Council at the October 24th meeting. <br />McMillan thanked Rachel Dodge for compiling the residents guide outlining the City's services that are <br />provided. McMillan noted it is available on the City's website and there will also be hard copies available <br />at the City Hall. <br />McMillan noted she attended a storm water workshop that was held in Golden Valley. McMillan <br />indicated they discussed TMDLs, which are mandated pollution goals dealing with phosphorus. The <br />TMDLs are done to show that the City is making adequate progress towards storm water management. <br />McMillan stated this is a big issue that will be coming up which requires cities to address storm water and <br />isthe amount of money that will be required to fund storm water projects. <br />Page 7 of 10 <br />
