The applicaalts were not involved in construction of the <br /> house. They purchased it si� years after it «-as built with the espectation <br /> that the house ���as conforming or legally non-conformin�. <br /> b. To Urin� the �ara�e into confonnance with the setbacl: would require total <br /> reconstructiozz of the tlu�ee-car garage. Allowing the �arage to remain ��-here it is ��-ould not be detrimental to the <br /> surrounding properties. The house on the adjacent lot is over 180 feet fi•om <br /> the applicailts' Qarage so the reduced setbacic is not readily apparent. <br /> 5. The City Cotulcil has considered this application including the findin�s and <br /> recommendation of the Plarulin� Corrunission, reports by City staff, comments <br /> by the applicants and the public, and the effect of the proposed variance on the <br /> health, safety and welfare of the conuiiunity. <br /> 6.
