' Mueller Orono Parcel
Orono, Minnesota
 for
William & Peggy Mueller
 prepared by
Aquatic EcoSolutions, Inc.
 Number: 99057WM
' The Mueller Orono Parcel is located in the SE'/4 of the SE'/4 of Section 36, Township 1 18 N.,
Range 23 W., Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
! The parcel is located at the address of 55 Ferndale Green, the second house west of Ferndale on
the south side of Ferndale Green. The parcel is bounded on the south by highway 12 and on the
, west by residential homes and a driveway.
The parcel is a large-lot residential home with a mown yard, un-mown meadow, some trees, and
a wetland described in the Results section.
The adjacent land usage is residential, developing residential, a golf course, with some wooded
 areas and wetlands.
The wetland delineation was performed on December 15, 1999 in non-frozen conditions without
snow cover by Robert J.F. Merila, Profe.ssiorial Wetlatd Scientist#1030.
, Methodology
In Minnesota, wetlands are under two jurisdictions: State and Federal. The State jurisdiction
guidelines were set by the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act of 1991 (WCA). This State
urisdiction is administered by the Local Governmental Unit (LGU) with technical guidance
provided by the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR).
The Federal jurisdiction is administered by the U.S. Army Corps ofEngineers (COE or Corps).
Starting in 1996, both jurisdictions agreed to use the Corps of Engineers Wetland Dliratror
Marrual(Environmental Laboratory, 1987) along with supplemental guidance by the Corps. This
manual is commonly referred to as the 1987 Manual.
The wetland delineation method used on this site was the Plant Communit Assessment
Y
Procedure of the Routine Onsite Determination Method. The Routine Onsite Determination
Forms (located in the back of the report) detail the three technical criteria (hydrophytic
vegetation, hydric soils, and wetland hydrology) as described in the 1987 Manual.
,
 Copright O 1999.
